About 12 months ago, I posted a joke about Bitcoin on a Facebook page.

Plenty of people were very upset with me. Some sent me private messages, angrily defending the importance of investing in crypto-currency.

That was fascinating, in itself.

If somebody posted that index funds were garbage, most of us would just smile. We wouldn’t feel the need to defend what we have bought.

But when there’s already a niggling doubt, and people are “investing” based on speculation, they feel attacked by those who oppose their views.

About 12 months have passed since I wrote that post.
