A couple of months ago, my wife and I were having lunch at a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
A young couple looked at the menu posted at the entrance. Then they sat down at the table next to ours. They started speaking Russian. “Leave them alone,” my wife whispered.
She knows that Russians fascinate me. They’re among the most serious people I have ever met.
If a Russian couple, however, does look approachable, I dive in with a big smile and a bag full of questions.
